The Physical Education Teacher Preparation Program provides and
integrates exceptional educational experiences at both public and private
school settings so that majors can receive a quality education and become
productive citizens. The objectives of the program emphasize the
knowledge, skills, and dispositions of a quality teacher as described by the
national governing agencies of AAHPERD/NASPE, and the institution
accreditation agency, NCATE.
The program will place emphasis on:
Program completion will meet all of the NYSED requirements for teacher certification for Physical Education Pre-K. It is recommended to have a strong desire to work with diverse populations, and children with special needs and conditions, such as obesity.
