Students Taking a New Direction (STAND) serves as a focus for all students and other members of the Dowling community interested in Pan-Africanism culture and affairs. STAND is active in organizing activities aimed at fostering interaction among the Pan-African community and introducing the culture to the rest of the Dowling College community.

Planned events include Midnight Madness and Black History Month celebrations.
